We are pleased to invite you to attend the upcoming RIPE NCC training courses in Tallinn, Estonia scheduled from 2-4 April 2025. The training is free for all the participants!
Schedule:
- Wednesday, 2 April, 9.00 - 17.30: RIPE Database Training Course
- Thursday, 3 April, 9.00 - 17.30: IPv6 Security Training Course
- Friday, 4 April, 9.00 - 17.30: BGP Routing Security Training Course

RIPE Database Training Course
(2nd of April, 9.00 - 17.30)

The RIPE Database training course is a one-day course. We'll make you a capable user of the RIPE Database. Mixing hands-on activities with theory, the course participants will get a comprehensive idea of what the RIPE Database is and what they can do with it.
You should attend this training course if you are part of the staff of a Local Internet Registry (LIR) in the RIPE NCC service region, and need to register networks in the RIPE Database.
IPv6 Security Training Course
(3rd of April, 9.00 - 17.30)
The IPv6 Security Training Course is a one-day course providing an overview of the most relevant IPv6 security topics. The participant will gain insight into industry best practices and gain a high-level understanding of the most pressing IPv6 security concerns today. The course includes theory and hands-on exercises.
IMPORTANT: if you only have basic knowledge of IPv6, either learned on your own or in the IPv6 Fundamentals Training Course, the IPv6 Security course may be difficult to follow for you. This course requires an advanced level of knowledge of the IPv6 Protocol and its operations. We strongly recommend that you attend our Advanced IPv6 Training Course before signing up for this course.
You should attend this training course if you are part of the staff of a Local Internet Registry (LIR) and if:
- You have knowledge and experience with IPv6
- Your organisation has implemented IPv6 or is planning implementation
- You are a security/network/systems administrator, information security officer, IT consultant, or security policy writer
BGP Routing Security Training Course
(4th of April, 9.00 - 17.30)

BGP Routing Security is a one-day course covering different aspects of the security of BGP protocol. The participant will gain insight and a high-level understanding of the need for security in BGP, the main threats it faces and the main security measures that can be applied nowadays. Some future developments on the topic will also be covered. The course includes theory and hands-on exercises.
To attend this course, you need a good knowledge of TCP/IP and IP routing, experience with routing protocols (IGPs but mostly BGP), and an understanding of the different BGP routing relationships (Peer, Provider, IXP peering, Customer).
You should attend this training course if you are using, or plan to use, BGP in your network and want to know more about the potential threats and the security solutions available to make your BGP routing more secure.

Our training courses are free for RIPE NCC members and other guests (that are not the members of RIPE NCC). If you are not a RIPE NCC member but would like to attend, please email us at learning@ripe.net with the following details:
