When registering a .ee domain, the registrar must verify the identity of the registrant or his representative and establish his will and enter into a service agreement in writing or in a reproducible form. The registrar is under an obligation to maintain that the service contract was concluded with the registrant with which the registrant agreed. The registrar must also inform the registrant of the .ee domain of the reasons EIS is using the personal data of the registrant.

Also that the Registrant has an obligation to the EIF to comply with the applicable Domain Regulation and instructions specifying the Domain Regulation, as published on the EIF website. In addition, registrar must fix that EIF may require the Registrant to fulfill its obligations to the EIF under the service contract and the application for registration of the domain.

No, it is possible to register a domain without specifying any name servers. In that case the domain will only exist in the registry database and not be propagated into DNS.
The Registrar preserves the documents during the term of validity of the Contract and for a period of 10 (ten) years after the expiry of the Contract, except upon the transfer of the documents into the possession of EIF upon the expiry of the Contract. Registrar has obligation to protect documents against damage by working out the appropriate procedures.

The Registrar has to established internal provisions within its business, which regulate the obligations of the Registrar’s employees in the processing of personal data, including ensuring the availability, secrecy and integrity of the data, and the making of redundancy copies of personal data, and controls the fulfilment of the named internal provisions.
